Testimonials

Our family feels so blessed to have found Mona with The English Cottage. Mona took excellent care of my mom in her last weeks of her life. Mona was always patient, positive and kind. My mom felt comfortable, safe and loved in a room that looked just like her own. Our family always felt welcomed, Mona not only provided the emotional support my mom needed, she provided the emotional support our family needed. There was always quiet, soothing music playing and a calming atmosphere. We never worried when we left to go home. My mom passed surrounded by her family which includes Mona, as she loved her very much. Most importantly, because of Mona's care, mom passed with dignity, respect and at peace. With all my heart, thank you so much Mona.

Mona was a true blessing to my mom and me. I needed to know that there was no one better to care for my mom during her last few months. She gave me peace of mind knowing my mom had the best care possible during this difficult time. Her kindness and compassion to my mom and me were outstanding. Mona will forever be a lifelong friend.

The English Cottage is what all care facilities should be, but almost none are. Kind, wise, efficient and comfortable, it is like becoming part of a family you didn't know you had. During my husband's last illness I was able to stay with him every day and he was treated with such respect and warmth. I thank God that we chose The English Cottage.

In 2020 my 90 year-old father who had dementia, was living in the memory care unit of an assisted living facility. He was isolated to that unit away from family, except for phone calls and facetime due to Covid. He had a fall in September and was not bouncing back. In October it became clear that he needed more care than he was getting, including hospice care. His doctor suggested we move him to a personal care home so that we, his family, could visit. He further suggested The English Cottage. A few of my siblings and I went to see the place and interview Mona who is the owner. Her home is clean and comfortable and she is kind and knowledgeable. We decided to move dad there. it was the best decision we ever made. Mona took such good care of dad. She helped him eat and drink what little he would. She was loving and caring to him and he responded to her kindness. She kept him clean and comfortable. Within a few days she had him sitting up and outside for fresh air. I truly believe that she brought him back from death's door and gave him the last five weeks of his life with his family. She worked well with hospice staff and kept us informed along the way. My siblings and I really got to know Mona as we spent time with Dad. She was caring for dad and she was caring for us. We were on that journey together. Dad died peacefully on November 30 with his family and Mona by his side. We are forever gretaful for those few weeks with dad. We consider Mona  part of our family now.

As my dad needed more and more care, I began looking through the options for his care. I knew we could care for him in our home up to a point, but it would be a commitment for the family as a whole, requiring sacrifice. I still wanted to explore the options. We explored hiring more help at his own home which was 25 miles away from my family and we toured many assisted living facilities. Than I remembered this dear woman that cared for my neighbor who needed full time care in her 90s. Mona- we went to see her and we could see that this was the solution. When I could no longer care for my dad, than Mona could and she would do it with great compassion. Last summer that day came and he indeed went to live with Mona. He was a blind opinionated engineer with a broken-down body. Someone with high standards who was not easy to please. But Mona found a way. Mona took excellent care of my dad and he would tell you that himself. She brought out the best in him. Move in with Mona and soon she would feel like family. My dad was her biggest fan. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My Aunt had the privilege of staying at The English Cottage as she could no longer live alone in her home without 24/7 care. The transition to hospice was painless. The very first day we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. Mona was her caretaker, friend, confidant and my aunt grew to love her as one of her family members. The English Cottage has a very calm and peaceful ambiance. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I highly recommend The English Cottage.
